Recycling Dickies Jeans

How about some recycling? These Dickies jeans first belonged to my husband. The jeans were ripped in the crouch area. Unfortunately for him, beyond repair. The jeans lay in my repair bucket for a very long time. Some time ago I wanted to sew a jeans for Jelle. So I browsed through my fabric stash. I couldn't find a nice fabric. Then I saw my repair bucket and found the Dickies jeans. How cool would it be to make a new jeans out of them? It was a very nice fabric. So I set out to try if there was enough fabric to make a jeans for Jelle. And there was!

I removed the original backpockets which were transformed into the new backpockets. I also carefully removed the waisteband and made it smaller to fit Jelle. I also used the original loops that support the belt. I mimicked the colour scheme of the original jeans. Light blue and dark blue stitchings with small details of red stitchings.

The pattern comes from the Dutch magazine "Knippie". I made the jeans in size 104.
