Party Pants ;-)

Last april my adopted grandfather (grandfather of my husband) celebrated his 80th birthday. We celebrated this with the entire family. There also was a photographer to make family pictures. Off course we had to wear nice clothes for the family portraits.
For this occasion I made 'party pants' for my two oldest boys. Party pants is a literal translation of  the Dutch word 'feestbroek'. Which is what my boys call them. Whenever there is a birthday, they like to wear the 'party pants'.
The pants are made of a fabric with a linnen and cotton mixture. The stripes are asking for a special layout of the pattern pieces. The front pockets and the flaps of the (fake) backpockets have horizontal stripes while the rest of the trousers have vertical stripes. The pattern comes from Ottobre magazine and was made in size 98 and 122.
The shirt worn by Jelle also comes from Ottobre magazine The shirt is made of a cotton fabric with black and white squares. The front pockets are laid out diagonally on the fabric. Instead of a lying collar I made a small upright standing collar. Jorn also had a shirt like this but refused to wear it for the photo. I made the shirts in size 98 and 122.

Oilily Fabric Green Jeans

For my son Jelle I made these green Jeans. Again this was an Oilily fabric from my private stock. The fabric is double layered. Light green fabric on the inside, olive coloured fabric on the outside. The pattern of the Jeans is very suitable for a double layered fabric like this. It gives lots of opportunities to show the inside of the fabric. That's what I did with the lower seams and the backpockets. All seams are stitched with limegreen coloured yarn. All the details give the Jeans a playfull look.
I've made these trousers before with a black ribcord fabric. The pattern comes from the magazine Knippie and was made in size 98.
